The world’s largest fully aquatic frog - the Titicaca Water Frog - faces an uncertain future as the result of an onslaught of threats. These threats include disease and pollution in Lake Titicaca, the illegal trade for pets, food and medicinal products, and the introduction of trout and silverfish that prey on tadpoles. Global amphibian experts applaud efforts aimed at saving the species to date and are now calling on NGOs and the governments of Bolivia and Peru to bolster binational conservation measures to prevent the species’ extinction. #ExtinctionEndsHere
