Filled with history, objects, anecdotes and geographies, the #GucciGarden in Florence presents new exhibit rooms curated by Maria Luisa Frisa @lafrisa. ‘Ouroboros,’ a motif recurrent of @alessandro_michele’s collections referring to the ancient symbol of a snake biting its tail, gives its name to a room that ventures into the mysterious and alchemical aspects of nature. On show, an embroidered cape from #GucciFW17 by #AlessandroMichele and a silk Flora dress from 1969. A small cinema auditorium in Gucci Garden, the ‘Cinema da Camera’ now welcomes ‘John Giorno in Florence’ a sound project by the poet, artist and performer John Giorno, produced in 2012. A new room at the #GucciGarden, ‘Cosmic Colours’ explores a palette that runs through the #Gucci collections, with archival pieces including coats from the 70s, to show how these are connected with @alessandro_michele’s chromatic research. Inside the room, a tulle evening gown with sequin embroidery and a lamé bomber with 'E H J' embroidery inspired by a piece by Annie Reavey designed for @eltonjohn—both from #GucciSS18 by #AlessandroMichele. Conceived by @alessandro_michele and curated by Maria Luisa Frisa @lafrisa, the room ‘Jardin d’Hiver’—which is French for Winter Garden—is a further deployment of the archive, with the introduction of nature-inspired objects and documents surrounded by the white version of the #GucciTian wallpaper. The room also displays a custom #Gucci velvet V-neck dress designed by #AlessandroMichele and worn by @thesineadburke to the #MetCamp Gala and a hat inspired by a vintage Frank Olive design. Unveiling new exhibits at the #GucciGarden in Florence conceived by @alessandro_michele and curated by Maria Luisa Frisa @lafrisa. The first room is called ‘Détournement,’ which means rerouting in French—the term was adapted by the Situationist International movement which described it as ‘a reuse of pre-existing artistic elements in a new ensemble’. The room features a wall by artist @yukohiguchi3 who imagined a mythical creature incorporating many of the House motifs and ready-to-wear pieces with the Gucci logo displayed in diverse forms and fabrics including a dress in GG fabric from 1969 and a leather jacket with embroidered Donald Duck ?Disney appliqué by #AlessandroMichele.
